Say this not as an outward critique, but as an inward mantra to drive your work forward.
Whatever you’re working on can always be better, sharper, funnier, more beautiful. Keep exploring every nuance, evaluating every decision to make sure it’s the best it can be.
Walk away from it, come back, look again with fresh eyes. Do it again, then do it again and again.
In a deadline business, push it right up to the very last second before it airs, posts, runs. This is a common denominator of all the great creative people I’ve worked with: they never stop improving the work until they run out of time.
Repeat this mantra quietly to yourself over and over throughout the process. The work will get better for sure because you can always do better than that.
